Hello everyone following are some proverbs you may hear native speakers use quite often in their daily conversations. What do you think? Do you have similar sayings in Japanese too?

皆様こんにちは。以下に挙げることわざは、日常会話でネイティブスピーカーがよく使うのを、耳にすることがあるかもしれません。どう思われますか？日本語でも似たようなことわざがありますか?

“Too many cooks spoil the broth”
料理人が多すぎるとスープがだめになる、船頭多くして船山に登る

if too many people are involved in a task or activity, it will not be done well. 仕事や活動に関わる人が多すぎると、出来があまりよくないものだ。

”Where there’s a will there’s a way”
意志あるところに道あり、為せば成る

 if you are determined enough, you can find a way to achieve what you want, even if it is very difficult 決意が十分に固ければ、たとえ非常に困難であったとしても、求めるものを勝ち取る方法を見出だすことができる。

”Necessity is the mother of invention”
必要は発明の母、窮すれば通ず

when the need for something becomes essential, you are forced to find ways of getting or achieving it. 必要性がこの上なく高まると、手に入れる方法や成し遂げる手段を否が応でも見つけることになる。

”Don’t judge a book by its cover”
本の中身を装丁で判断するなかれ、人は見かけによらぬもの

you shouldn’t prejudge the worth or value of something by its outward appearance alone. 物事のうわべだけを見て、 早まった価値判断を下すべきではない。

people of the same sort or with the same tastes and interests will be found together. 同類の人や趣味・興味が同じ人は、気付けば一緒にいるものだ。

一石二鳥、一挙両得

Do two things simultaneously to save time.
同時に2つのことをして時間を節約する。

”A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. ”
掌中の1羽は叢中の2羽に値する、明日の百より今日の五十

The things we already have are more valuable than the things we only hope to get. 既に持っているものは、ただ手に入れたいと望むばかりのものよりも価値がある。

”A penny saved is a penny earned”
1ペニーの節約は1ペニーのもうけ、ちりも積もれば山となる

It is good to save money.
お金を節約するのは良いことである。
