The day after Thanksgiving Day in the US is called Black Friday, it’s one of the busiest shopping days of the year and it’s called Black Friday because it’s the start of the most profitable season for shop owners.
It’s quite interesting that there is a very similar expression in Japanese too, so it’s easy to remember.
