How to study English – How to use the Flashcards (Especially our 入門コース classes)
Hello everyone, Our beginner classes have two goals, the first one is to increase the students everyday vocabulary and the second is to assist with sentence construction (Grammar). As such most of our 入門コース and Level 1 class flashcards have a selection of necessary everyday expressions and necessary grammar.
Students should study the sample sentences on the flashcards as they are but also they should try to add their own information on them,
For example in our 入門コース – Lesson 2 – A day off flashcards, after we have introduced many daily activities such as
browse the Internet インターネットを見て回る
play video games (テレビ)ゲームをする
stay at home 家にいる
watch TV テレビを見る
cook 料理をする
Spend time with my family 家族と過ごす
etc..
we introduce the question (Grammar)
What do you usually do in your free time? 自由な時間に普段何をしますか。
I usually do exercise, go shopping and watch films. 普段エクササイズや買い物や映画を見ます。
I recommend that students first remember the answer as is, but also try to answer with their own information for example if you usually spend your free time watching TV.
What do you usually do in your free time? 自由な時間に普段何をしますか。
I usually watch TV.
and try to ask the following questions related to watching TV.
For example, instead of
What kind of restaurants do you usually go to? どんなレストランに普段行きますか。
maybe students can ask
What kind of TV programs do you watch?
It can sometimes be a little bit difficult, especially for our starter students that have very little experience with English and students will surely make mistakes. But trying to correctly construct your own sentences and making mistakes are a very important part of the process of learning English.

みなさんこんにちは。私たちの初心者クラスは２つのゴールがあります。一つは日常英会話の単語を増やすこと。もう一つは文の構成が理解できるようになること。
ほとんどの入門コースやレベル１のフラッシュカードは必須の日常表現や必須の文法が載っています。
生徒さんはまずはフラッシュカードの文章を勉強すべきですが、追加で自分自身の答えを用意して勉強してみるのがいいでしょう。
例えば、入門コース – Lesson 2 – A day off のフラッシュカードのあと、私たちは以下のように日常のアクティビティを紹介しています。

そして質問を紹介しています。

生徒さんは最初は質問より答えを学ぶことをおすすめしていますが、自分自身の答えを言えるように挑戦してみるのが良いと思います。例えばあなたが普段暇なときテレビを見て過ごすのなら、

I usually watch TV.
そして次はテレビを観る、ということに関連した質問を考えてみます。
例えば、
What kind of restaurants do you usually go to? どんなレストランに普段行きますか。
という質問の代わりに、
What kind of TV programs do you watch?
のように。
特に初心者で英語の経験が非常に少ない方は、時に難しいこともあると思うしミスはあると思います。でも、自分の言葉の文章構成を正そうと挑戦した上でミスをすることは、英語を学ぶ上でとても重要なプロセスです。
