How to study English－tag questions
Hello there! A few weeks ago Tim wrote about how to use “right?” at the end of a sentence, we are practicing the same thing this weekend in the making small talk classes, these are called tag questions. This is how you use them.
The tag question will always match the first part of the question but will be in the negative, it’s very similar to Japanese so it shouldn’t be so difficult.
For example.
It’s hot today isn’t it?
As you can see the pronoun is the same at the end as is it is in the beginning of the sentence and the verb is put in the negative.
Like this..
He is Kazuko’s husband isn’t he?
She is the teacher at Kensington Kids Academy isn’t she?
They work very hard don’t they?
We are quite busy at the moment aren’t we?
It has been really nice weather recently hasn’t it?
You have had a haircut haven’t you?
She is going to Europe this summer isn’t she?

みなさんこんにちは！数週間前にTimが文の最後にくる“right?”の使い方についてブログを書いていましたが、今週末の雑談に関するレッスンで、これと同じようなことを練習していきます。これをタグクエスチョンと呼びます。
このように使います。
タグクエスチョンは、常に最初の部分と一致し、否定形になります。これは日本語ととても似ているので、それほど難しいことではありません。
例えば、
今日暑くない？
見てわかるように、最初と最後の主語+動詞は同じものにものになり、最後は否定形が付きます。
こんな感じです、、
彼はカズコの旦那さんだよね？
彼女はケンジントンキッズアカデミーの先生だよね？
彼らは一生懸命働いてるよね？
私達いますごく忙しいよね？
最近すごくいい天気だよね？
髪切ったよね？
彼女は夏ヨーロッパへ行くんだよね？
