Business – Throw the Baby Out with the Bath Water
Since our subject was family last weekend, I’ll introduce you today to a relevant idiom we use in business. It’s “Throw the Baby Out with the Bath Water” and it means to discard something valuable along with other things that are undesirable.
Ex. When the Muromi branch started getting in the red they closed it down immediately and fired all the staff. Some of the people there were pretty skilled, I think that in their panic they threw the baby out with the bath water.

先週末のレッスンのトピックは”family”だったので、 今日はそれに関連したビジネスシーンで使えるイディオムを紹介したいと思います。
“Throw the Baby Out with the Bath Water” という言葉で、これは何か価値があるものを、他の価値がないものと一緒に捨ててしまう、という意味です。
例：室見校が赤字になったとき、彼らはただちに閉校し、スタッフ全員を解雇しました。そこで働いていた人何人かはとてもスキルがあったのに、多分彼らはパニックになって大事なものまで一緒に捨ててしまいました。
