Food -bake-roast-grill
Hello there everyone.
When we talk about food in class, everyone seems to want to use the work bake for everything but it often sound quite funny. When you want to say bake please remember the word bakery, you don’t find much beef or fish in the bakery. We only bake things like cakes, biscuits, and bread. Baked goods are always cooked dry in the oven.
Instead use
roast- cook in the oven with some kind of oil, butter, fat etc
grill-cook over or under heat on a mesh

みなさんこんにちは。
レッスンの中で食べ物について話す時、みなさん全ての“焼く”ということをbakeで表わそうとしますが、それはちょっと面白く聞こえます。bakeと言いたいときはそれはパン屋さんを思い出してください。パン屋さんで牛や魚は見ませんよね。bakeはケーキ、ビスケット、パンなどです。bakedするものというのは、いつもオーブンで水分を飛ばすようなもののことです。

roast- オーブンで色んなオイル、バター、油で焼く
grill – 網の上か下で焼く
