Watching movies
Hey guys,
Our subject this week is ‘Cinema’ which I think presents a good opportunity to encourage you all to keep watching/watch more English media. TV shows, films, news, whatever it is, it is so helpful to learning a second language. I don’t know a single high level student that hasn’t, at one point or another, consistently consumed media in the language they are learning.
Learning a language is all about input(listening and reading) and output(writing and speaking), the more English movies you watch, the more ‘input’ you get. You don’t even have to treat it as study, just enjoy the movie for what it is. There are passive learning elements to listening to another language, and the more the better.
I also recommend this to students; when you hear an expression in a movie that you like or sounds interesting, write it down, look it up, and use it in class. It’s a great way to learn new, natural expressions.

今週のサブジェクト『映画』です。今こそ皆さんに見て欲しい/もっと見て欲しい英語のメディアをお勧めする良いチャンスだと思います。
テレビ番組や映画、ニュース、天気予報…何であれあなたが第2言語を学ぶ大きな助けとなります。高いレベルの生徒さんで、学習している言語のメディアを1度も視聴したことがない人を知りません。
言語学習はインプット（聞く、読む）と、アウトプット（書く、話す）がすべてです。
英語の映画を観れば観るほど、さらにインプットすることができるでしょう。勉強と捉えなくても、ただ映画を楽しめば良いのです。
母国語以外の言語を聞くことには受動的な学習要素があり、これは多ければ多いほど良いでしょう。
また、勉強にはこんな方法もお勧めです。
映画の中で好きなフレーズや気になる表現を聞いたら、書き出して調べ、レッスンで使ってみましょう。新しく自然な表現を学ぶ素晴らしい方法です。
