“Slow on difficult, fast on easy”
What do I mean by this saying?
Well, recently I’ve been learning how to play two different instruments, and one thing I’ve picked up on is when something is easy, I decide to just speed it up on that part, but slow down significantly on very difficult parts.
The reason this is useful is because you trust your memory to do most of the work on things you have learnt quite well – but you focus your awareness on parts that are tricky. This is a very useful method of learning too – you’re increasing the speed and strength of “strengths” and slowing down and improving “weak” points.
Use this with your English too. Do you have difficulty with explaining things and reasoning? Slow down when expressing complex thought. Go fast and relax on easy stuff. This works!

このことわざはどういう意味でしょう？
最近私は、２種類の楽器の演奏方法を学びました。
そこで私が気付いたことは、何かが簡単なとき、その部分ではスピードを上げましたが、非常に難しいパートでは大幅にスピードを落としたことです。
このやり方が役立った理由は、私たちは何か得意なことを行う際、自分の中でよく理解できた記憶を使って作業をし、難しいことを行うときには意識を集中させるからです。
これはとても便利な学習方法でもあります。
「得意」なところでは速度と強度を高め、「不得意」なところでは速度を遅くして改善します。
英語学習でもぜひこれを使ってください。
物事を説明したり、推論するのに苦労していませんか？
複雑な考えを表現するときは減速しましょう。
そして、簡単なもののときに素早く行い、リラックスしましょう。
