Grammar and usage: Rather do/rather not
Would rather do something = prefer to do something Would rather not = don’t want to do it
A: Would you like to study fashion designing or film costume designing?
B: Hmm I’d rather study film costume designing in Los Angeles. I’ve always wanted to work in the film industry.
