Hey everyone,
The business English expression I would like to introduce to you today is one we use in business when we fail to make progress. In those cases we sometimes say that we are “treading water” and sadly is the feeling I get recently in Kensington. Every year we do something exciting like opening up new schools, starting new classes, improving our processes and this year I think we have as well, especially when it comes to test preparation and our lessons for younger learners. Our progress though and our ability to work on new projects has been hindered by the labour market and our difficulty finding highly skilled staff. We’ve had some very promising candidates though recently so things should get better soon!

こんにちは、みなさん。
本日ご紹介したいビジネス英語の表現は、ビジネスが進まないときに使うフレーズです。
そして悲しいことに、最近ケンジントン英会話でそれを感じます。
私たちは毎年、新しい教室を開校したり、新しいレッスンを始めたり、プロセスを改善したりするなど、エキサイティングなことをしています。
今年は、特にテスト対策や若い学習者向けのレッスンに関してもそうだと思います。
しかし、今の労働市場や、現在高度なスキルを持つスタッフを見つけるのが難しいことによって、私たちの進歩と新しいプロジェクトに取り組む能力は妨げられてきました。
しかし最近はとても有望な候補者がいるので、すぐに良くなるはずです！
