What we are doing in Kensington
Treading Water
Hey everyone,
This year has been a very busy one for us here in Kensington, we have worked hard on expanding our test-prep classes, our private classes for younger learners, our group classes for Kindergarten and Elementary school students and we are now very confident about helping out students of all age groups.
Yet, hiring competent staff and teachers has been very hard this year. I know it’s not only us and it’s more of an industry-wide phenomenon but we have been looking for teachers and assistants for our kids schools since January and our hiring is still not completed. Without our staff roster completed it’s very hard to work on and proceed with new and exciting projects and as such I sometimes get the feeling that we are treading water.
It is what it is though, the borders will at some point open up and more foreign teachers will finally be allowed to come to Japan and then some of our struggles with hiring will be alleviated. Until then, we’ll do the best we can with what we have.

Treading Water（足踏みしている [立ち泳ぎをする]）
こんにちは、みなさん。
今年はケンジントン英会話にとって非常に忙しい年でした。
私たちはテスト対策レッスン、若い学習者のためのプライベートレッスン、幼稚園と小学生のためのグループレッスンの拡大に一生懸命取り組んできました。
そのため、すべての年齢層の生徒さんに向けて、英語学習のお手伝いをすることに今とても自信を持っています。
それでも、有能なスタッフと講師を雇うのは今年は非常に困難でした。
それは私たちだけではなく、業界全体の現象であることはわかっていますが、1月からキッズスクールの講師とアシスタントの採用がまだ完了していません。
スタッフの採用が終わらなければ、新しいエキサイティングなプロジェクトに取り組み、進めるのは非常に困難です。
私はときどき足踏み状態を続けているように感じます。
とはいえ、いつか国境が開かれ、そしてやっと外国人講師の来日が許可され、採用に苦労することも少なくなるでしょう。
それまでは、私たちが持っているものでできる限り最善を尽くします。
