Nouns with same singular and plural forms
Some nouns have identical singular and plural forms. A very usual example of that is fish. We don’t say fishes in the plural form, just fish. Other such nouns include staff, aircraft, cod, deer, fish, salmon, sheep and shrimp.
As you can see identical singular and plural forms are mostly reserved for some animals and especially fish. Some examples of the plural forms:
Ex.1 Last week I went fishing in Itoshima and caught 10 fish.
Ex.2 There are a lot of sheep in New Zealand.
Ex.3 We hired two new staff for our Tenjin branch last week.

単数形と複数形が同一の名詞
名詞の中には、その単数形と複数形が同じものがあります。
よく例として出されるのは「fish（魚）」です。
魚を複数形として言うときに、私たちは「fishes」とは言わず、ただ「fish」と言います。
他の例としては、「staff」「aircraft」「cod」「deer」「fish」「salmon」「sheep」「shrimp」があります。
このように、単数形と複数形が同一である名詞は、ほとんどの場合、一部の動物、特に魚です。

Last week I went fishing in Itoshima and caught 10 fish.
(先週、糸島に釣りに行って、10匹釣った。)
例2
There are a lot of sheep in New Zealand.
(ニュージーランドには羊がたくさんいます。)
例3
We hired two new staff for our Tenjin branch last week.
(先週、天神支店に2名の新入社員を採用しました。)
