Hello Everyone,

This week in the Yakuin and Akasaka classrooms will be talking about Technology.
Level 1
For the level 1 classes we’ll use “interested in”

What are you interested in?　何に興味がありますか？
Are you interested in technology?　テクノロジーに興味がありますか？
Are you interested in smartphones? スマートフォンに興味がありますか?

We’ll use “prefer”
Do you prefer reading ebooks or paper books?　電子書籍と紙の本では、どちらを読む方が好みですか？
I prefer reading paper books.　紙の本を読む方が好みです。
Do you prefer shopping online or in-store?　ネットショッピングと店の中で買い物をするのでは、どちらが好みですか？

We’ll use some everyday English related to phones or computers
shop online　ネットショッピングをする
watch TV shows　テレビ番組を観る
download music　音楽(曲)をダウンロードする
chat with friends　友人とチャットする(おしゃべりする)
make presentations　プレゼンテーションをする
check my emails　メールをチェックする
call my friends　友人に電話する

We’ll use “use …….for” and “use …… to …….” as in:
What do you use your computer for?　コンピューターを何に使いますか？
I use it to watch online videos.　ネットで動画を観るのに使います。
I use it to check my social media accounts.　ソーシャル・メディア上の自分をチェックするのに使います。

And finally we’ll talk about inventions
What is the most important invention of the 20th century?　20世紀で最も重要な発明は何ですか。
I think the most important invention of the 20th century is the internet.　インターネットが、20世紀で最も重要な発明だと思います。
refrigerator　冷蔵庫
artificial intelligence　人工知能
antibiotics　抗生物質

Level 2
In our level 2 classes we’ll be similar to level 1 with slightly more advanced vocabulary and grammar.

Level 3
In our level 3 class we’ll have a very interesting conversation about technology, talking about recent gadgets, new technologies, the impact of technology on our lives, we’ll talk about a prediction by John Keynes, about the most important inventions of the 20th century etc….

Level 2
Level2ではLevel1と似てますが、単語と文法が少し上級になります。

Level 3
Level3では、私たちの生活の中でのテクノロジーや、最新機器、新しいテクノロジー、について興味のあることを話します。また、ジョンケインズの予言、20世紀で最も重要な発明について話します。
