Fancy has many meanings and is more usually used in British English than in America. Today we are going to learn how to use it casually instead of “want”.
Do you want to get some drinks? → Do you fancy some drinks?
Do you want some tea? → Do you fancy some tea?
Please keep in mind that we can use it instead of “want” when we are talking about a noun and not an action.
I fancy a beer! ← OK!
I fancy to drink a beer ← NOT OK!! In these situations you need to use “want”

Fancyには多くの意味があり、通常アメリカ英語よりもイギリス英語で使用されています。なので今日は“want”の代わりの表現方法を学んでいきましょう。
Do you want to get some drinks? / なにか飲み物を飲みますか？→ Do you fancy some drinks? / なにか飲み物を飲みませんか？
Do you want some tea? / なにかお茶を飲みますか？→ Do you fancy some tea? / なにかお茶でも飲みませんか？
動詞ではなく名詞について話しているときは“want”の代わりにこれらが使用できます。
I fancy a beer! / 私はビールが大好きです！ ←OK！
I fancy to drink a beer / ビールを飲みたい←NO!この状況では“want”を使用する必要があります。
