ケンジントン英会話ニュース-eikaiwa night at Tonerico Cafe

Hi there everyone, hope you all enjoyed yourselves at the hanami party this month, I’m happy to inform you that you will have the chance to enjoy yourselves once more at our newly brand named Eikaiwa Night at Tonerico Cafe on the 16 of June. The fee is 2000 yen per person , which includes 2 drinks and the event runs from 17:30 to 19:20.Tonerico will also provide a small menu of snacks for 500 each. Please feel free to bring along a friend of family member if you like but bear in mind that we need to make the booking in advance so let us know as soon as you can if you would like to come.

ビジネス英会話でよく使う表現 – a change of pace

Hi there everyone, hope you all had a good weekend and a big thanks to all of you who came to the party yesterday! Hope the rest of you can make it next year.

Today’s business English expression is a “change of pace”

A change of pace means to do something different.

For example..

I quite enjoy going on business trips, it’s a nice change of pace.

I don’t mind it when we are sent out of the office on errand, it’s a change of pace from the usual routine.

Hope that comes in handy.

ケンジントン英会話ニュース – Kensington Hanami Party at Maizuru Park

Hello guys,

It’s this time of the year again, the weather is warmer, the cherry blossoms are blooming and there is an air of excitement all around the country!

As you know, we’ll be holding our party this Sunday from 14:00 – 17:00, so let’s please all meet up by 13:50 and walk together to our gathering spot.

The Hanami season is approaching its end but we chose this date so the park is not too crowded and we can all have a lovely picnic in relative peace!

As the Hanami participation is free, please make sure to bring some drinks and food for yourselves and for sharing with the group.

またこの季節になりました。気候も暖かく、桜の花も満開で、わくわくします。

みなさんご存知のとおり、今度の日曜日の14時から17時でお花見パーティーを開きます。
13時50分に集合して、一緒に歩いてお花見場所まで歩いて行こうと思います。

お花見シーズンはもうすぐ終わりですが、人もそんなに多くなく、楽しいピクニックになるだろうと思って、この日程にしました。

ケンジントン英会話ニュース- Hanami party

Hi there! This year as usual we are attempting to hold a hanami party in Maizuru Park. Hopefully this year doesn’t follow the usual trend of sudden rain on the day!!

The party will be held from 14:00-17:00 on Sunday the 8th of April, please feel free to bring friends and or family too but if you do be sure to let us know in advance.

We will be providing some drinks and setting up the space but we are also asking everyone to bring a little something along too.

If you have some kind of sheet that you use for these occasions please bring that with you because we have run out of space in the past.

皆さん、こんにちは！また今年も私たちは舞鶴公園で花見パーティーを開催しますよ。

今年は例年のように当日雨が降るなんてことが起きないように祈りたいです！！

パーティーは４月８日(日)14:00~17:00までです。是非ご友人やご家族を誘って参加してくださいね。ただ、その際は私たちに人数を教えてください。

Hi there everyone, a big thanks to all of you who came to the Tonerico Cafe party last time, it was a lot of fun and great to see you all using your English so naturally together!

We feel like we didn’t give you enough time to decide at the last party so this time we will let you know well in advance. The next party will be on March 17th from 17:30 to 19:20 and the fee is 2000 yen per person, which includes 2 drinks. After that all drinks will be 500 yen and Tonerico will provide a small menu of snacks.

Please remember that family and friends are all welcome, so if you want to bring someone along please let us know.

Hi there everyone, I hate to sound like a broken record here,but don’t forget that the deadline for booking and payment of the all English party at Tonerico cafe is the 24th of this month! Friends and family are welcome too!

The party will be held at Tonerico Cafe in Akasaka on the 27th from 17:30-19:20,and the price is 2000 yen entrance with 2 drinks included. Last time we had a full house so be sure to make your reservations soon!

ケンジントン英会話ニュース – Tonerico English Party on the 27th

Hello guys,

I’m sure you’ll be all very excited to hear that we’ll be holding our English party on Jan 27th.

Last party was loads of fun and also an excellent opportunity for our students to meet other students and to practice the English they had been learning in a more real life environment.

We are going to tweak the party this time, we are going to start with general talk and introductions in pairs just as last time but this time we’ll also include some themed tables were students can talk about some pre-decided subjects. We’ll give you more information on that next week.

For the time being be quick to make a reservation please as there is only space for 30 people and last time it was filled up very very soon.

前回のパーティーではすごく楽しく、他の生徒さんにも会える機会にもなり、今まで習ってきた英語を日常生活で使える機会になったと思います。

今回のパーティーは少し手を加えて、普通の会話から始めて、前回したようにペアで自己紹介をします。それと同時に、前もって決められたテーマでみなさんがお話できるように、いくつかのテーマをテーブルに用意しています。来週また情報をお知らせします。

定員が30名となっておりますので、お早目にご予約をお願いいたします。前回はとてもとてもすぐ定員オーバーとなりました。

ケンジントン英会話ニュース – Eikaiwa Cafe Party at Tonerico in Akasaka

Last Saturday we held an English party at Tonerico cafe in Akasaka. It was the first time we held the party entirely in English and I think it went very well. We are going to hold this party every two months (next is in December) and we hope to improve upon our first effort so any feedback from our students would be very welcome.

I’d like to thank all of you for coming and I’d like to say how thankful and proud Jaimie and I feel about the way every student at the party tried his and her best to be friendly and speak English for two hours regardless of level.

Jaimie and I were planning to go around and assist students when there was English trouble but you were so great at it that it was almost entirely unnecessary. A school can only be as great as its students are, and in you guys I feel we have the best students in the world!!

ケンジントン英会話ニュース – 赤坂のとねりこカフェの英会話カフェパーティー

先週の土曜日に赤坂のとねりこカフェさんで英会話パーティーをしました。英語オンリーのパーティーは初めてでしたが、とてもよかったと思います。英語オンリーのパーティーは一月毎にします。（次は12月です。）この取組を改善していって、生徒みなさんのお役に立てればいいなと思っています。

パーティーに参加していただいたみなさんに感謝の気持ちと、ジェイミー先生への感謝のきもち、彼のことをとても誇りに思っています。レベルに関係なく、この2時間、生徒みなさんがフレンドリーに英語を話すことにベストを尽くしていたと思います。

英語に困った時のために私とジェイミーは周って、みなさんをサポートしようと思ってましたが、みなさんはとてもよくできていて、その必要はなかったみたいです。素晴らしい生徒さん達がいるから学校も素晴らしくなるのです。私たちはみなさんが世界中で1番ベストな生徒だと思っています。

Tim and Jamie’s Interview at an English blog site

Two Sundays ago in our school in Akasaka we had a visitor from a popular English blog site. He was interested in introducing the best schools in Fukuoka to his site visitors and as such he paid a visit to Kensington.

He joined our actual level 2 class on Sunday at 11:00 so he could experience our classes and later on interviewed me and Jaimie about our school. He was a really fun person to talk to and his English was really great so Jaimie and I had a great time being interviewed by him in English.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the students that participated in that class, one of the reasons that we love working at Kensington so much is our great students, always making a good atmosphere, always supporting each other and always helping our newcomers. An English school can only be as good as our students and judging by our students, I think we may possibly be the greatest English school in the world!!
