Swing for the fences / Play it safe

Hi everyone,

For our business English blog today, I’d like to introduce you to two expressions we use in business. Swinging for the fences is an idiom that comes from baseball and it means to attempt to satisfy high aspirations that are very difficult to achieve. Playing it safe is to not take risky bets.

In Kensington, I think we do some of both, but when the right opportunity arrives I believe that we’ll always try to swing for the fences. Our new school in Josui is the biggest project we’ve undertaken up to now and it’s really swinging for the fences so wish us luck!

Playing it safe
リスクを冒さず、堅実に行うことです。
